TMTR teams up with StanbicIBTC in War Against Fake News

STanbicIBTC one of Nigeria’s leading banks has teamed up with The Lagos Training Room to fight the menace of fake news.

The bank sponsored the training of 25 journalists by faculty members of The Lagos Training Room made up of Toyosi Ogunseye, Head BBC West Africa, Deji Olatoye Partner The Lodt, and Toni Kan, Co-founder/faculty member.

In her comments post-training, Bridget Oyefeso-Odusami, Head Marketing and Corporate Communications, Stanbic IBTC commended TMTR for the initiative which she said is “imperative in this era when individuals and corporates are daily falling victim to fake news. Building capacity for media practitioners in this area, I believe, will enhance the quality of their reportage.”
